John Hughes: Reach the Rock

Achariya challenged bloggers to dress in something inspired by a John Hughes film as a memorial to his career. Reach the Rock is one of the lesser known works of John Hughes. Robin is a small town “bad boy” who recently returned after the accidental drowning of his best friend. He goes crazy and trashes the town landing himself in jail. Throughout his night in jail he slips out off and on without being notices further trashing the town while dealing with his past. It is a slightly darker side of John Huges but it is mixed with enough funny scenes to give it a comedic balance. This is one of his best pieces of writing in his career.

Fabulous Fashion TV

How has everyone’s summer been going? Ours has been fan-f’ing-tastic. Brekke and I just returned from our nice, long vacation. I am completely broke so it is back to the grind.

On a tip from one of Brekke’s friends I checked out the television studios of Fabulous Fashion TV. There are regular gifts at the studio and special gifts that rotate from various designers.   MADesigns is currently one of the featured designers with a collection of 4 hairstyles(3 for men) and 2 pairs of eyes.  In the regular gift area, Satoria has a nice casual suit in summer colors for men. Solar Designer Eyewear has a pair of unisex glasses that is fully modifible with their HUD.

Deviant Kitties & SCD Photo Studio

Deviant Kitties was one of the stores that Brekke loved at the Hair Fair. She dragged me over there so she could do a treasure hunt. My feelings was any store with the word Kitty in its title was not for men. I found myself surprised. As with most new places I hit the freebie/discount area first and found a free male skin and unisex hairstyle. The skin is called Maskk and the hair, which came in 6 colors, Thirteen. The other male skins will run you L$75 and the hair will run L$200 or L$70 for the discounted styles. Other male items are piercings for L$90, shapes for L$750 and a full avatar of Zuko from Avatar for $L1000.

The pictures today use the new and completely free SCD Photo Studio from the bloggers over at Shopping Cart Disco. It comes with Windlight setting suggestions. Now all I need are some textures to give this thing more background than white. The photo studio is easy to use.  Just place it down and you are good to go.   I suggest investing in a background pack or uploading your own favorites.

Celebrate the 4th

Calico Ingamm Creations has free 4th of July hair. There are 2 ad displays one with Josh & Seth and the second with Evan. In the other textures these styles will run you L$200. There is also female hair gifts as well.

Damiani Fashion Design has a special 4th of July skin with American flag tattoos and a matching outfit for L$1. This special is for group members with the group membership at L$250. There are often gifts and specials so this group is well worth the cost. There is also a female set as well.
